Greenmybottle! sustainable packaging
We want our packaging to weigh as little as possible on the environment, like our wine.
We have four targets:
- to use 100% recycled or reusable material
- to use as little material as possible
- to use material with a very low carbon impact
- to use material produced with respect for the environment
Cardboard packaging
Papermills are among the industries which pollute the most in the world, both for the chemical processing of cellulose and for the purchasing of wood, sometimes reason for wild deforestation.
Our cardboard packaging are 75% of recycled cellulose and 25% from authorized forests. The percentage of virgin paper is produced by the Swedish papermill StoraEnso; they are very careful in developing their environmental policy.
Corks
Cork is a natural and recyclable material and its production does not damage its tree. Anytime you buy a bottle with a cork you cooperate in the maintenance of cork oak-tree forests where some endangered species live. Further information on www.wwf.es or download pdf
Glass
We use glass corks as an alternative choice to cork for fresh wines. Glass corks get rid of the risk of “cork smell”. It is a very good seal to maintain freshness and to allow a low use of sulphites when bottling.
Caps in PET
We are using PET caps instead of PVC caps to avoid further production of toxic substance in disposal stage (see Sam Sud research). Please, recycle them in plastic selective collection.
Illustrative material
Informative material is printed on ecological paper FreeLife Merida, an enviromental friendly paper.
Boxes for shipping
Special boxes for home-delivery by courier are made of cardboard ( not polystyrene)
